Training progress – we are working hard…

Hi friends,

Are training is progressing well.  We are working with Jared, our trainer, twice a week, while our running training with Jake once a week is progressing well too.  On top of this we do two shorter runs per week and one longer run, at the moment 20k (although, this will be getting extended every weekend until the big run).  This is hard work, but really enjoyable and it is helping keep us sane while we are pushing hard on our dissertations.

We are also planning to check out the trail in the coming weeks with our friends Adi and Sheryl.  Aside from being fun, it will also allow us to do some important reconnaissance and see what we will be confronting.

We also think it’s necessary to explain our approach to the run to you all. Now 84km is a long way. We will be running along the rail trail passing through towns and former stations. These points will act as our stops along the way where we will refuel and fill up our water. So it won’t be 84km non-stop, but more of an endurance run. We will post more details about our planned itinerary closer to the date.

If we are sweating, its time for you to be giving!  And we are definitely sweating!  It’s easy, just click on the “donate” icon on the sidebar of this blog and you can watch the fundraising progress via the thermometer also on the sidebar.

Remember if you want to keep posted become a “follower” (we like to think of you as supporters… you’re all too independent to be “followers”).

Time for the fundraising thermometer to start rising!

Keep smiling, M+J

  1. 1) Should have been warned that this blog is X_rated with those pronographic pics of Jem's rippling muscaluture. ALOPECIA

    2) Thrilled to make it by name into the blog for a second time but shoudl have said it might be fun but that will be a happy byproduct of bringing a neurotic type A organising QUEEN to help us plan our meal breaks!

    3) I think if you are running over 30 K a week we are all specks in your dust, thus followers is an appropriate name.
